At Compassion Works, we offer specialized individual therapy and couples counseling, addressing areas like trauma (PTSD/C-PTSD), chronic stress & anxiety, and couples conflict. Our approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, and Polyvagal Theory. We provide both in-person therapy in Frisco, TX, and secure virtual therapy across Texas.
Individual intake sessions are $210 (50 min), with subsequent individual sessions at $160 (50 min). Couples intake sessions are $220 (50 min), followed by $200 per 50-minute session. We also offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs.
While many clients choose out-of-pocket, we accept Sana Benefits, Cigna, Aetna, Oscar Health, UMR, United, Optum, BCBS of Massachusetts, and Quest Behavioral Health. For other providers, we can automatically provide a superbill through our Simple Practice system for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance to verify mental health benefits and reimbursement rates for CPT codes 90837 (sessions) and 90791 (intakes).
What sets us apart is our commitment to combining deep empathy with evidence-based care, often rooted in our therapists' lived experiences of navigating personal growth and post-traumatic transformation. We move beyond traditional talk therapy, integrating whole-person approaches that honor the body's wisdom alongside proven modalities. Furthermore, our practice values radical collaboration, ensuring your therapy journey is tailored to your unique needs, and our therapists diligently 'do their own work' to guarantee you receive the most present and empowering support.
The length of therapy is highly personalized, as it depends on your specific goals, the complexity of your challenges, and your commitment to the process. Many clients experience significant progress within a few months, while others prefer ongoing support. We begin with a collaborative intake to understand your unique needs. In sessions, you bring the topics, and we provide the expert guidance and space to explore, equip you with new skills, and work together to achieve your desired transformation. Your active participation is key to your success.
Yes, secure virtual therapy is consistently shown to be just as effective as in-person sessions for a wide range of mental health concerns. For clients throughout Texas, virtual sessions offer incredible flexibility and accessibility from the comfort of your own space. This allows you to receive expert care without geographical limitations, making quality mental health support more convenient than ever.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice and a fundamental ethical standard for licensed therapists. What you share in therapy is strictly confidential, protected by HIPAA laws and professional ethics. There are very few exceptions, such as immediate threat of harm to yourself or others, or mandated child/elder abuse reporting, which will be thoroughly reviewed during your initial session. Your privacy and safety are paramount.
